We are excited to announce the 2025 Portugal Legacy Camp! It will be all day Saturday (15 November) and end after a half-day of training on Sunday (16 November). If you are local, you won't need to miss work to attend. And if you're flying in, you can return home Sunday afternoon.
Our goal is to provide a low-cost and fun training experience so we can spend the day sweating, smiling and learning with our ATA family.
We will have black belt testing on Saturday morning and a Legacy certification exam on Sunday morning.
The training is open to anyone in Legacy Program who is 11 years old or older, regardless of rank.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend this camp?
The training is open to the following ATA members:
- Rank: All ranks
- Age: 11 or older
- Program: Legacy Program (any level)
What equipment will I need?
The training will be "ATA Casual," which means black workout trousers and black ATA T-shirt. You only need your white dobok (uniform) if you are participating in the Legacy certification exam or the black belt testing.
Please also bring the following if you own it:
- Sparring gear
- Combat weapon
- Color belts: ssahng nat (kamas)
- Black belts: Choose jahng bong (bo staff), ssahng nat (kamas) (2nd degrees and above only) or jee pahng ee (cane) (4th degrees and above only)
You should also bring a water bottle, snacks, and lunch.
Where will the camp be held?
The camp will be at the Pavilhão Desportivo S. Bruno, 2760-122 Caxias, Portugal
I am traveling from out of Portugal. When should I arrive and leave?
If you are doing the black belt testing, you will need to be at the camp venue by 8 am Saturday. If not, then you can arrive by 10 am so you are ready to start training at 10:30am. See the schedule above.
Can I midterm or rank test?
Yes, we will have a black belt testing for 1st through 4th degree black belts. As always, you need your instructor's permission to test. If you are a 4th degree testing for 5th degree, you need pre-approval from ATA headquarters.
If you are a 1st or 2nd degree, you will need to pay the usual fee to your instructor in addition to the 20€ camp testing fee (see Fees above).
Can I test for Legacy certification?
Yes, we will have a Legacy test for anyone seeking to earn (or renew) Level 1-3 or Facilitator status. As always, you need your instructor's permission to test.

Who can attend the School Owners Dinner on Saturday?
All school or club owners and head instructors and their spouses or partners are invited to join us for dinner on Saturday at 7:15pm at Restaurante Doca de Santo. The cost is 32€ per person.
